Edelpappband / Millimeter Binding

The Millimeter binding is a Fine binding that started in the 1940s in Denmark due to a leather shortage. There are three kinds of Millimeter Bindings. The Classic which has a leather spine and just a tip of leather on the corners, the Rubow which has a “millimeter” of leather showing on the head and Tail of the book, and the Skin cap which has just a “millimeter” of leather showing around the head and Tail end of the spine and a leather tip on the corners. Historically, they used paste paper.
